| Understanding Vitamin C...cont.
Those at highest risk for Vitamin C deficiency:
- patients taking anticoagulants, or long courses of cortisone, antibiotics or aspirin
- cigarette smokers, their children and spouses; chewing tobacco users, alcoholics and recreational drug users
- nursing home occupants
- workers exposed to Vitamin C- destroying chemicals, such as gas station attendants, beauticians chemical and nuclear plant employees, or anyone who works with toxic chemicals, truck drivers and heavy equipment operators, employees of synthetic fiber plants, dry cleaners, airline mechanics and ground crews, oil and gas refinery employees, and sewage treatment plant employees.
